As the Academy of Art University continues to shelter in place, the School of Communications & Media Technologies (COM) announced the launch of their new series, “ArtU Zoom!” The six-episode series will feature a rotation of student hosts with featured news stories completed by Academy students. News stories will cover the “new normal” as students continue their studies at home via online classrooms.

The first episode of “ArtU Zoom!,” hosted by COM student Ryan Gamboa, included news stories from the perspectives of students Bree Cates and Niki Tan. COM student Rabah Houali shared a clip from a video essay featuring ArtU student-athletes learning about the cancellation of the remainder of their winter and spring seasons. The episode also featured illustrations from “The Corona Chronicles” created by School of Illustration Director Chuck Pyle’s ILL 232 class and a segment on how to make a face mask–no sewing necessary.
