On Thursday, April 16, Academy of Art University School of Fashion Executive Director Simon Ungless took part in a screenprinting demonstration for “McQueen Creators,” a new project from the fashion house of Alexander McQueen. The goal of “McQueen Creators” is to encourage their followers to channel their creativity while at home. The challenge: make a print of their own with materials they have on hand, drawing inspiration from the fashion house’s own prints and designs.

In the video below, Ungless, a long-time Alexander McQueen friend and collaborator, guides viewers through his screenprinting process from his studio in which he adds prints to a skirt from 1860 and a Victorian corset top.

Share photos of your own project creations on Instagram and make sure to tag @AlexanderMcQueen and use the hashtag #McQueenCreators.
